Robert J. Warnke, age 77 of Cozad, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska. Robert was born February 15, 1936 at Butte, Nebraska to Anton and Marcelene (Sanders) Warnke. Robert graduated from Butte High School. In 1955, he entered the US Army and was sent to Germany. Following his discharge, Robert attended Midland College in Fremont, earning a Bachelors Degree in Business. After college, Robert moved to Rapid City, SD and worked for a telephone company as a marketing representative. Robert moved to Cozad in 1963 and started his career as an agent at State Farm Insurance until retirement in 1999. In 1973, Robert married Lois Johnson. Robert was a loving husband, proud father, and greatly enjoyed time spent with family. He was an excellent role model to his children and grandchildren, teaching them the real purpose of life. Robert was a devoted member of the Christ the King Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening and canning. Robert was preceded in death his wife Lois; his parents; and his son Wayne Warner. Survivors include his 2 daughters, Sharon (Curt) Cutler of Columbus and Trudy Guettler of Cozad; 6 grandchildren, Scott (Debbie) Cutler of Yankton, SD, Todd (Shelly) Cutler of Omaha, Stephanie (Bob) Ferguson of Omaha, Travis (Andrea) Guettler of Hagerstown, MD, Chianne (Mark) Coffman of Windsor, Co and Ashton Warner of Cozad; 18 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Sherry Warner of Cozad; special family Jean and Wayne Inman, Tom Sanders, Mark and Linda Johnson, Gary and Sharon Evenson. Christian rosary services will be Monday, October 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Reverend Don O’Brien as Celebrant. Burial with military honors will be at Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, October 21, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
