Robert White, age 59 of Lexington, passed away August 18, 2013 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln. Robert was born August 5, 1954 at Omaha, Nebraska to Robert J. and Doris D. (Miller) White. He was raised in Omaha and attended school in the Carter Lake area. Following his schooling, Robert remained in the Omaha area where he held several different jobs. In 2000, Robert moved to Lexington where he helped open the BBQ Smoke Pit Restaurant with his sister and brother-in-law. Shortly after moving to the area, Robert began working as a truck driver. Robert worked for Sunrise, Grand Island Express, Covenant and Justa Trucking in a career that spanned over 10 years. Robert was a very loving and easy going person. He loved attending family gatherings and being around his relatives. Robert never had children of his own, and as a result, developed special bonds with all of his nieces, nephews, and their children. Robert enjoyed watching movies, and going out to eat with his family. He had a glowing sense of humor that his loved ones came to appreciate over the years. Robert also had a love of animals and spending time outdoors. A memorial has been established in his memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. White; step father, Bill Morris; brother, Will; sister, Jean Kerper; and his grandparents. Robert is survived by his mother, Doris Morris of Lexington; sister, Carol (John) Wilson of Cozad; niece, Angela Meredith of Lexington; nephews, Scott (Becki) Meredith of Lincoln, Kenny (Dawn) Meredith of Cozad; great nieces and nephews Raul, Victoria, Miranda, Daphne, Ryley, Takia, Jayden and Isac; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Gothenburg Cemetery with Pastor Larry Viter officiating. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
