Julia Brown

Julia Brown, age 81 of Chandler, AZ passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Total Care Assisted Living in Chandler, AZ. Julia was born February 25, 1932 at Hastings, NE to Albert and Anna (Lindeman) Herbek. She graduated from Cozad High School. During school Julia worked as an usher at the Rialto Theatre. She had also spent some time working at the local shoe store. On September 10, 1949, she married Kenneth H. Brown. The couple made their home at Cozad where Ken was employed at the hay mills and later at Doc""s 66 Station, while Julia cared for the family. In most recent years, Julia made her home in Chandler, AZ since February of 2011 to be close to her family. Julia loved animals and also loved to garden. She took great pride in her yard and landscaping. Julia is preceded in death by her husband in 2005; 4 brothers-in-law, Harold Sweeney and Lawrence, Lloyd and Wayne Brown and sister-in-law, Margaret Garcia. Survivors include her son, Larry (Pam) Brown of Chandler, Arizona; sister Beverly Sweeney of Cozad; brother, Bob (Debbie) Herbek of Lincoln, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Sam) Stelk of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Elnora Ryckman of Mohave Valley, Arizona; three grandsons, Dana (Leah) Brown of Queen Creek, Arizona, Chad Brown of Chandler Arizona, Cory Brown of Queen Creek, Arizona and five great-grandchildren, Madison, Rain, River, Caleb, and Carter. A memorial has been established in her memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad. A private inurnment will be held in the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Thursday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p. m., at the Berryman Funeral Home.
