Rhonda Morrison, age 46 of Cozad, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Cozad Community Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Rhonda was born on June 6, 1966, at Montgomery, Alabama to Ron and Judy (Grimm) Wallingford. She attended school in Cozad and later graduated from Summit High School in Frisco, Colorado in 1984. She later returned to Nebraska where she attended Mid-Plains Community College in pursuit of a degree in Psychology. Rhonda moved around the Dawson County area throughout the course of her life but always remained connected to Cozad through her family, who she cared for deeply. Rhonda enjoyed 80""s music and loved singing karaoke. She also enjoyed dancing and spending time with friends at BBQ""s. Rhonda""s favorite past time was sharing quality time with her family, especially her children, nieces and nephews. Rhonda was preceded in death by her Grimm Grandparents; her Dillon Grandparents; and a step brother, Derek Gilbert. Survivors include her daughter, Mariah Morrison of Cozad; son, Jeremy Halbgewachs of Panama City, FL; fiancé, Tony Whiters of Cozad; mother, Judy (Dave) Gilbert of Cozad; father, Bob Dillon of Cozad; 2 sisters, Kim (Brett) Sassali and Michelle (Cory) Spotanski, all of Cozad; half sister, Abbi Jensen of Cozad; step brother, Blake Gilbert of Denver; step sister, Erin Gilbert of Casper, WY; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Cozad with Pastor Elaine Besthorn officiating. A private family inurnment will be held in the Cozad Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
