Larry W. Love

Larry Love, age 71, of Cozad, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Larry was born June 19, 1941 at Gothenburg, Nebraska to Howard and Marie (Klein) Love. He graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1958. On October 2, 1960, Larry married Linda Tanke at Julesburg, Colorado. The family made their home in Cozad, before moving out to the Love family farmstead, where they lived and farmed the rest of their married lives. Their union was blessed with 2 children, Rick and Jody. Larry loved his work and all that it entailed. He always had a passion and appreciation for the beauty of nature that can be observed in farming. Larry had a great love for animals, and took excellent care of his livestock. Larry always stayed busy; and when he wasn""t doing something farm related, he could usually be found spending time with his family. He was a passionate follower of his grandchildren""s activities, particularly their sporting events. Larry enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards and marbles, and spending time with his wife in the kitchen, baking, cooking and canning. He also had a special attachment to his golden retriever, K.C. Larry was a member of the Cozad United Methodist Church and the Cozad Elks Lodge #2250. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Linda Love of Cozad; son, Rick (Anngie) Love of Cozad; daughter, Jody (Mike) Henry of Cozad; 5 grandchildren, Erin (Zach) Horse of Cozad, Eric (Gretchen) Love of Belton, MO, Ryan Henry of Cozad, Jordan Henry of Cozad, Justin Henry and his girlfriend Megan and her son, Emerson, all of Cozad; 1 great grandson, Liam Horse, along with another great grandchild due in June; sister, Aldeah Rae (Kenneth) Dillmon of Cheyenne, WY; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial has been established in his memory, with the intention of creating an agricultural scholarship for area students. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
