Delores M. Fredericksen

Delores M. Fredericksen, 78, of Cozad, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Delores was born April 16, 1934 at Grand Island, NE to Irven and Erna (Luebbe) Brown. She graduated from Grand Island High School with the class of 1952. On September 19, 1954, Delores married Gene Fredericksen at Grand Island. The couple made their home in Cozad, where they lived their entire married lives. Delores worked at J.C. Penney and Hunt Cleaners before going to work at the Jack and Jill Grocery Store in the early 1970""s. Delores"" time at the Jack and Jill Grocery Store spanned 3 different owners; she later joined the staff at Sonny""s Super Foods, where she worked until the present. Delores loved watching football, both college and professional. Her home in the country was always of great comfort to her, as she enjoyed the serenity that country life provided. Delores would spend hours of enjoyment watching the birds that flocked to the many feeders in her yard, as well as her daily game shows. She was an avid reader, and loved to play cards with her husband and their friends. Delores was a member of the Church of Christ in Cozad. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; son, Alan; and 2 sisters, Barbara Taylor and Evangline Schumacher. Survivors include her son, Kelly (Shawna) Fredericksen of Milford; 2 grandsons, Kirk Fredericksen of Minot Air Force Base, ND, Sean Fredericksen of Milford; sister, Jacqulyn (Ivan) Harwood of Cozad; 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Taylor and Wayne Schumacher, both of Grand Island; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Children""s Home Society or the American Cancer Society in her memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ on Newell Street in Cozad with Pastor Mike Dennis officiating. Burial will be in the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation for memorial book signatures will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
