LILY A. CAÑAS SARDESON Lily Cañas Sardeson, age 48 of Cozad, passed away August 19, 2012 at the Golden Living Care Center in Cozad. Lily was born August 11, 1964 at Big Springs, Texas to Jose and Rosario Avalos Cañas. She attended school at Big Springs and Cozad. Lily spent most of her life in Cozad, where she raised her only daughter, Ashley. She loved spending time with family, especially her granddaughter. Lily enjoyed shopping, going on walks and dining out with family and friends. Lily was always generous with what she had in life. She will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. A memorial has been established in her memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Lily was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Alicia Tucker; and brother, Elle Cañas. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley (Kyle) Cañas; granddaughter, Rosario Cañas; 4 brothers, Tony (Kayleen) Cañas, Nick (Nancy) Cañas, Joel (Cheryl) Cañas, Joe (Mary) Cañas, III all of Cozad; 2 sisters, Angie (Oscar) Orellana of Cozad, Lisa (J.R.) Lopez of Ft. Worth, TX; brother-in-law, Gene Tucker of Sterling, CO; sister-in-law, Janae Cañas of Sterling, CO; and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cozad Christian Church with Pastor Jeremy Jech officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo Grove Cemetery east of Cozad. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
