JAROLD ""JERRY""� ARNOLD Jerry Arnold, age 88 of Cozad, passed away August 15, 2012 at Park Avenue Estates in Lexington. Jerry was born February 20, 1924 at Cozad, Nebraska to Alonzo and Velma (Kring) Arnold. He graduated from Cozad High School in 1940. Following his graduation, Jerry married Judy Holt. Jerry had been employed with Koch & Ling Construction for a number of years. After Judy""s passing, he married Helen Whaley in Alliance, Nebraska in 1964. The couple resided in Cozad their entire married lives. Jerry would eventually partner with LeRoy Beans to found Arnold & Beans Construction. Following his involvement in his construction partnership, he became one of the originators of 5-Star Flooring. Most recently, Jerry made his home at Park Avenue Estates in Lexington. Jerry was an avid hunter, which was something that he proudly shared with his boys. He also loved to hunt the countryside for wild mushrooms and asparagus. Jerry lived life with a""vibrant"" sense of humor, which always had a way of enhancing his interactions with friends and family alike. Jerry was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cozad. He was a long time member of the Cozad Elks Club and a retired First Aid Chief for the Cozad Fire Department. Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy in 1958; second wife, Helen in January of 2012; his parents; and 2 brothers, Eugene and Keith. Survivors include his 2 sons, Marc (Karen) Arnold of Cozad, Ron (Linda) Arnold of Orleans; 3 grandchildren, Toby Arnold of Cozad, Keri (Efrain) Quintanilla of Omaha, Scott (Amy) Arnold of Lincoln; 5 great grandchildren, Nickolas, Gavin and Nolan Quintanilla, Adee Grace Arnold and Ruby Joy Arnold. Services will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
