Shane Eric Brooks

Shane E. Brooks, age 42 of Yuma, Arizona, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2014 at Yuma. Shane was born February 20, 1971 at Anaheim, California to David and Annie (Barnett) Brooks. Shane graduated from Kofa High School at Yuma in 1990. He went on to attend Arizona Western Jr. College. Shane worked in the golf industry. He was employed by numerous golf courses in the Yuma area. He was an excellent golfer, and enjoyed the many friends that he met while working in the golf industry. Shane was a fun, loving and kind man. He was a friend to all, he never met a stranger. Shane truly loved life and Nebraska football. Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvin "Pete" and Violet Brooks and Joe and Eliza Barnett; and sister Jo Shannon. Shane is survived by his loving parents, David and Annie Brooks of Yuma, AZ; his sister, Becky (Mark) Vilums of La Quinta, CA; nephew, Luke Vilums; niece, Lydia Vilums; his big brother, Jason Van Brunt of Michigan. Services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation for memorial book signing will be Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Lung and Asthma Foundation.
