Emma R. Walters, age 81 of Lexington, passed away February 4, 2014 at Cozad Community Hospital. Emma was born January 20, 1933 to Richard and Pansy (Mangan) Guyle at Milburn, Nebraska. Emma attended school at Cozad. Emma married Leland Walters. The couple lived at Omaha and Nebraska City. Emma worked as a nurse's aid in Care Homes and at an American Beef Plant. Emma and Leland moved back to Cozad in April of 1999. Emma loved spending time with family at reunions and looked forward to evenings out with her sisters and brother-in-law. She enjoyed participating in the activities at the Haymaker Haven Community Room. She had special memories of visiting with her aunt in the care home at Milford, NE. Emma treasured time spent camping, fishing and playing yahtzee and bingo with family and friends. Helping her family and friends whenever she could was important to Emma. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leland; son Jerry; 2 brothers, Stanley and Vernon Guyle; sisters Shirley Alonzo and Alice Bevard. Survivors include her children, Richard, Theresa, Annette, Roberta, Julie, Lisa, Teresa; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial services for Emma will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Blake Armstrong officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Memorial book signing will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in her memory.
