Charles Henry Dillon, age 90 of Cozad, passed away April 6, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Cozad. Charles was born August 10, 1923 North of Wellfleet, Nebraska to Charles and Eda Mae (Seaman) Dillon. Charles grew up near Wellfleet and attended Bell Prairie School through the 8th grade. Following his high school graduation from Wellfleet High School in 1940, he continued farming the family home place. On August 14, 1944 Charles married Mary Ruth Gormly. To this union, their daughter Eda Ruth was born. In 1968, the family moved to Cozad where Charles hauled bulk mail from Cozad to North Platte for 12 years. In 1982, his wife Mary passed away. On November 3, 1990, Charles married Linnea Smith. Charles was a 50 year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Wellfleet and Cozad. He was also a 50 year member of the Methodist Church in Wellfleet. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary; sister and brother-in-law JoAnn and George Koester, and sister Vivia Richardson. Survivors include his wife Linnea; daughter Eda Ruth Schmidt of Akron, IA; grandson Thomas (Angie) Worth of Wellfleet, NE. Services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens at North Platte, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
