Virginia Parrish, age 81 of Indianola, formerly of Cozad, passed away April 10, 2014 at Community Hospital in McCook. Virginia was born May 31, 1932 near Cambridge, Nebraska to Lewis and Lila (Scott) Stapp. She attended Lucerne Valley rural school and graduated from Cozad High School in 1950. Following high school, Virginia worked at Service Drug and as Clerk for the City of Cozad. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Thrift Store in Cozad, and at the daycare at her church. Virginia also became a foster parent. She was an avid reader and enjoyed embroidery, sewing and working on jumble puzzles. Virginia was a proud grandma and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a long time member of the Cozad United Methodist Church. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother Dean; and sister Maxine Kloepping. Survivors include 3 sons, Alan (Liz) Seaman of Lincoln, Mike (Traci) Seaman of Indianola, Eric (Anne) Seaman of Cozad; grandchildren, Mandy Nelsen, Ryan Seaman, Tucker Seaman, Dylan Seaman and Cora-Leigh Seaman; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Alexa and Weston; step grandchildren, Tyler Brooks and Madison, Mason and Trey Mousel; step great-grandchild Kynlea Marie Dack. Services will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Pastor Dean Pofahl officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery near Cambridge, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in her memory.
