Martha Schroeder

Martha Schroeder, age 90 of Cozad, passed away September 11, 2014 at Park Avenue Estates in Lexington, Nebraska. Martha was born March 26, 1924 at Lincoln, Nebraska to John and Anna Marie (Spadt) Klein. Martha's family moved to Cozad when she was 8 years old. She attended school in Cozad and graduated with the class of 1942. On September 5, 1943, Martha married Lowell Schroeder. In 1948 the couple moved to a farm SE of Cozad where they were engaged in farming. Martha was an Avon representative, worked at Cozad Fashions and at the Cozad High School cafeteria. She was a devoted wife and mother and faithful member of the American Lutheran Church. Martha enjoyed gardening and quilting. Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lowell in 1989; 8 brothers and sisters; grandson Tim Schroeder and daughter-in-law Carol Schroeder. Martha is survived by her children, Dallas Schroeder of Cozad, Dennis (Cindy) Schroeder of Columbus; Diane (Richard) Pflaster of Cozad, Debra (Bryan) Darnall of Eustis and Donita (Neil) Bowers of Megargel, TX; sister Irene (Roger) Lawson of Cheyenne, WY; brother-in-law Dale (Ann) Schroeder of Melbourne Beach, FL; sister-in-law Maxine Klein of Cozad; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at the American Lutheran Church in Cozad with Pastor Mike Parsh officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery South of Cozad. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
