Robert R. Herbek

Robert R. Herbek, age 69, former resident of Cozad, passed away September 28, 2014 at his home in Lincoln. Bob was born September 16, 1945 in Hastings, Nebraska to Albert and Anna (Lindeman) Herbek. Bob attended and graduated from Cozad High School and graduated with the class of 1963. On August 23, 1969 Bob married Debra Adams at United Methodist Church in Cozad. The couple was blessed with 4 children, Dustin, Kent, Tag and Bart. Bob was a self employed general contractor in the Cozad area for 27 years. He moved to Lincoln in 1996. Bob enjoyed hunting, muscle cars, drag racing, his son Dustin’s bands, buying and selling antiques and watching Husker football. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Julia Brown; his brother in law Kenny Brown and his brother in law Harold Sweeney. Bob is lovingly survived by his wife Debra of Lincoln; sister Beverly Sweeney of Cozad; sons, Dustin (Melissa) Herbek of Lincoln, Kent (Misty) Herbek of Cozad, Bart Herbek of Lincoln and Tag (Tarie) Herbek of Omaha; grandchildren Ryan, Bella, Max, Kendra, Wryleigh, Coehl, Teag, and Evelyn. A memorial has been established in his memory. Cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. A private family inurnment will be held prior to the service. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
