Kay "Katie" F. Coller-Blomquist, age 64 of Cozad, passed away October 8, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Katie was born August 20, 1950 in Cozad, Nebraska to Lewis and Dolly (Smith) Coller. She attended school in Pontiac, IL and graduated from Flanagan, IL. After moving back to Cozad, Katie married Bill Kostman. The couple was blessed with 5 children. Katie attended nursing school in Kearney. She was an LPN for many years. Katie loved being a nurse, but was forced to retire due to a back injury. In 1990, Katie married her life long friend Roger Blomquist at Estes Park, CO. She enjoyed watching crime movies and had a passion for reading. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to read. She loved to travel and was a social butterfly. Katie relished time spent with family and friends and had a special way of pulling them together, especially during the holidays. She liked Halloween, the decorations, kids in costumes, even the big kids. Christmastime was her favorite. She would gather her siblings, children, grandchildren and friends together to share this special holiday. Katie was a loving and devoted grandma and "memaw". She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roger in January of 2014; 3 brothers, George, Melvin and Bob; daughter Shadow and 3 grandchildren, Harley, Taylor and Ezekial. She is lovingly survived by her 3 daughters, Billie (Tim) Land of Cozad, Bobbie (Moises) Samayoa of Lexington and Angel (David) Torres of Overton; 1 son, William Kostman Jr. of Cozad; 2 step-sons, Keith and Darin Blomquist of CA; 2 sisters, Linda (Willie) Cavitt and Donna Guerrero; 14 grandchildren, Shannen (Adam) Jesseph, Temerree (Wes) Maudlin, Sheila Land and her fiance Brittney, Breanna DeHarty and friend Melecio, Tat DeHarty, Aliyah Samayoa, Brian Samayoa, Axle Samayoa, Jasper Kostman, Shelsea Hamilton, Chris Poore, Darian Boswell, Genesis Torres and Winter Torres; and 7 great grandchildren, Ethan and Peyton Jesseph, Kierrah Roe, Trevor and Leland Maudlin, Izabella Day and Janelly Meza-DeHarty. A memorial has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Monday, October 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Al Jesseph officiating. Burial will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
