Russell (Russ) F. Adams, age 70, former resident of Cozad, passed away December 21, 2014 in Lincoln at LGH Bryan East Hospital. Russ was born June 11, 1944 in Putnam, Connecticut to Lawrence and Dorothea (Law) Adams. Russ attended and graduated from High School in Putnam, CT. On July 14, 1965 Russ married Linda Elfgren in Connecticut and they moved to Nebraska where they were employed and they were blessed with a son, Lawrence Adams. In December 1977, Russ married Cheryle Smith and was blessed with 2 daughters, Carie and Tiffany Adams. Russ was a self employed Electrician in the Cozad area for over 30 years. He moved to Ceresco, NE in 1997 and worked for the Lincoln Electrical Union for Commonwealth Electrical Company retiring in 2006. Russ then moved to Lincoln in 2006. Russ enjoyed his coffee time with neighbors, friends and coworkers throughout the years. He enjoyed playing solitaire, crossword puzzles, watching western movies and playing board games with the grandkids. Russ’s greatest joys and accomplishments were spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a permanent fixture at all the sporting events whether as a spectator or getting a grandkid from one event to another when needed. It was common knowledge when one would see his little green truck pull up that one of the grandkids were there and Grandpa was there to watch. He enjoyed spending time with each grandkid and all will have special memories of trips to a park, Grandpa’s McDonalds (with a play center on Cornhusker in Lincoln) or Casey’s for a donut and pizza. A special Grandpa rule was we eat the dessert first. Russ is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Russ is lovingly survived by his son, Larry (Jill) Adams of Eagle, NE; 2 daughters: Carie (Adam) Collins of Papillion, NE; Tiffany Adams of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Dreu, Jace and Brysen Adams, Alex Collins, Matayah Gray and Kinsley Cox. One brother Paul Adams of Johnston, RI; Nieces Amanda Leighton in MA and Nicole Ciatola of RI. Cremation was chosen.
