Naomi J. Patterson

July 18, 1922 — February 6, 2015

Naomi J. Patterson, age 92 of Cozad, passed away February 6, 2015 at the Lexington Regional Health Center. Naomi was born July 18, 1922, 2 miles North of Darr, Nebraska to Lloyd and Emma (Selk) Jolliffe. The family moved to Darr when Naomi was 3 years old and purchased the Darr Store. She attended grade school at District 19 and graduated from Cozad High School in 1939. Following graduation, Naomi worked in the office at Cover Feed Lot and Haymaker Feed in Darr. On April 28, 1946 she married Harley Patterson at the Methodist Church in Lexington, Nebraska. Naomi was a stay at home mother and housewife until her youngest son was in Junior High. She then took a job at the Cozad Hospital, Boerkirchers and the State School. When the school closed, she went to work for German Electric until she retired. Naomi enjoyed bowling, was an avid reader and devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Rowe of Thermopolis, WY; sons, David (Bev) Patterson of Broken Bow and Ted Patterson of Cozad; grandchildren, Deanna (Jeff) Worrell of Cozad, Darren Rowe of Thermopolis, WY, Amy (Jess) Taylor of Broken Bow and Ashley ( Jeremy) Tosaya of Mitchell, SD, Tarra (Brian) Janitscheck of Pleasanton, Trevor Patterson of Lincoln; 7 great grandchildren, Brittney Worrell of Lincoln, Abby and Tyler Worrell of Cozad and Emma and Erin Taylor of Broken Bow, Ty Janitscheck of Pleasanton and Brek Tosaya of Mitchell, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and 6 brothers and sisters. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1:30 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church with Kathy Gundell officiating. Burial will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3-8 at Berryman Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
