Virginia Farrell (Parsons) Vogt, 83, of Gothenburg, NE died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE. Virginia was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Cozad, NE. She was the daughter of George and Ethel (Griffith) Parsons, the second youngest of ten children. She was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church of Gothenburg, NE. She graduated from Cozad High School with the Class of 1949. On Nov. 23, 1952, she married Johnny Vogt. They had three children, Lana, Craig and Lynn. Virginia was active in Christian Education at Zion for several decades. She loved children and took care of many wee ones over the years. She took pride in working the farm and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed entertaining guests and spending time with family - playing cards and board games, laughing for hours. Virginia was preceded in death by: her father, George Parsons; her mother, Ethel (Griffith) Parsons; her husband, Johnny; siblings: Goldie (Parsons) Buck, Alvin Parsons, Charlie Parsons, Margaret (Parsons) Howat, Doris (Parsons) Crandell, Dorothy (Parsons) Hennige, Donald Parsons, Robert Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include: sister, Ellen (Parsons) Majors of Lexington, NE; sister-in-law's, Alice Vogt Hayes of Gothenburg, Evelyn Majors Parsons of Gothenburg and Doris Vogt of Cozad; brother-in-law, Henry Vogt of Gothenburg; daughter, Lana (Anthony) Aduloju of Bellevue, NE; son, Craig (Karen) Vogt of North Platte, NE; daughter, Lynn (Cornelius, II 'Butch') Stewart of Lawton, OK; grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie (Caleb), Travis, Elizabeth, Jessica, Caroline, Anthony-John , Farrel, Camille, Deborah; great-grandchildren, Baylee, Braxton, Sylvie, Daphney, Alex; three great-grandchildren on the way and numerous special nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church North of Gothenburg with the Rev. Carol Mapa officiating. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Gothenburg, NE. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 8 at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
