Perdeta W. Penn

Perdeta W. Penn passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala, Nebraska at the age of 99. Perdeta was born September 4, 1915 at Cozad, Nebraska to Walter and Alice (Parsons) Brooks. She grew up on her parent's farm and attended Cozad High School. On December 20, 1933, she married Howard 'Sam' Penn. They lived near Cozad until 1957 when they moved to San Diego, California. Together they enjoyed traveling and rock hounding. After retirement they returned to Cozad to care for her parents. Perdeta enjoyed attending church in Cozad and was active well into her 90's. She loved drives in the countryside and to visit life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years; daughter, Gale Braggs; 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy (Richard) Wolfe of North Platte; grandchildren, Janet (Bryan) Sellers, Karen (Patrick) Beatty, Richard (Cherri) Wolfe, Tim (Andrea) Wolfe, James (Jody) Heck, Geri Floe and William (Kim) Heck; 18 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or donor's choice. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 8 at Berryman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
