Dee O. Rosenau, age 80 of Cozad, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Cozad Community Hospital. Dee was born June 30, 1935 at Omaha, Nebraska to Dr. O.P. and Lola (Sinn) Rosenau. Dee grew up in Eustis, Nebraska and graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1952. He went on to attend and graduate from Hastings College and then went on to Colorado State University where he received a second bachelor's degree. He met Jeanette Richardson while at Colorado State. The couple were married on November 26, 1960 at Sterling, Colorado. Dee and Jeanette moved to Cozad operated the family farm near Cozad and Eustis, building a very successful farm and cattle feeding operation. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Cozad United Methodist Church. He sang with the choir and was a past trustee. Dee was very musical and was very proud to have passed his musical ability on to his children. He played in a dance band to support himself while in college. He was a charter member of the Cozad Jaycees and the Cozad Elks Lodge #2250. Dee treasured time spent with his family, never missing an event for his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister, Lola Mae. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette of Cozad; 2 children, Bill (Carol) Rosenau of Blair, NE and DeeAnn Rosenau of Blair, NE; grandchildren, Sgt. Daniel Rosenau, deployed in the Middle East and Nicole and Samuel Rosenau of Blair, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Cozad Fire and Rescue Squad. Memorial services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Smith officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later time. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Thursday from 1 to 5 at Berryman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
