Gladys M. Harvey, age 80 of Cozad, passed away September 10, 2015 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. Gladys was born April 5, 1935 near Eustis, Nebraska to Clarence and Minnie (Silbermann) Pontzius. She attended school at Cozad. On June 1, 1952 Gladys married Robert Harvey at her parents home. They resided in Kansas and Colorado while Robert was in the service and then returned to Cozad. They made their home in the Cozad and Lexington area for most of their married life. Gladys was employed at the Lexington school system doing custodial work and most recently worked at the Cozad Grand Generation Center. She enjoyed knitting, camping and fishing at Gallagher Canyon and pontoon trips. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Cozad Christian Church. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; 2 infant sons, and a daughter. Survivors include her cousin, Anna Silbermann of Cozad; sister-in-law's, Hazel Woodward of Gothenburg and Betty Kennedy of Cozad; brother-in-law, Cecil Woodward of Callaway; and many nieces, nephews, friends and church family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Cremation was chosen. Graveside memorial services will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. the Cozad Cemetery with Pastor John States officiating. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
