Kenneth L. Beans

Kenneth L. Beans of Cozad passed away October 19, 2015 at Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 94. Kenneth was born March 4, 1921 at Cozad, Nebraska to Erwin and Clara (Frasier) Beans. He graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1939. Kenneth served in the US Navy during WW2. On November 23, 1947 he married Angie Dorsey. Kenneth farmed in the Cozad area from 1948 to 1958 and then near Lexington until he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Angie; sisters, Gloralie Vikre and Lorraine Higgins; brother LeRoy Beans; daughter Kathleen Shoup; daughter-in-law Renee Hardesty Beans and grandson Edward Beans. Survivors include 3 children, Kenneth John (Eleanor) Beans of the Philippines, Peggy (Brad) Cole of Cairo, NE, and Deborah Princ (Terry) of Lincoln, NE; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother Dale Beans of Hemet, CA; and sister Kelva Devine of Eustis, NE and like a daughter, Sandy Keiswetter of Cozad. Services will be Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Darrell Holzinger and Pastor Doug Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad, which is in charge of arrangements.
