Harold Victor Halbgewachs, age 98 of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015, at Golden Living Center. Harold, son of Henry J. and Matilda (Millensipher) Halbgewachs, was born near Eustis, Nebraska, December 28, 1916. Harold believed in the One True and Living God and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ from early in his life. As a small boy he rode on horseback with his Grandpa Millensipher to church. Out of high school, he sought a congregation that held salvation that was solely through the work of Christ. Harold met Edith at church. Foundationally their love was the faith they together believed. It was not just worship; in family, business, and pleasure, Harold expressed that indeed all the blessings of life were from God’s gracious hand. Not so long ago he said, “My life has been full and greatly blessed from the first day and full every day from that day till this. It’s all of grace.” In his last days, though greatly weakened in body, his one determination was to worship the Lord each Sunday. Scripture declares that faith is a gift of God. The good in this man was solely God’s good in him. We thank the Lord this day for a sinner saved by grace known as Harold Halbgewachs. He is survived by his six children: Myrna (Alan) Loibl of Gothenburg; Howard (Cynthia) Halbgewachs of Cozad; Donnie (Barbara) Halbgewachs of El Paso, Texas; Linda (Ivan) Abbott of Hartington; Dickie (Charlotte) Halbgewachs of Austin, Texas; Victor (Elaine) Halbgewachs of Cartersville, Georgia; 31 Grandchildren; 57 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edith; sisters, Emma Stark, Lily Hueftle and Dora Mansfield; granddaughter Ellen Halbgewachs Formsma. Memorials are suggested to Mt.
