Bethel B. Hild

Bethel B. Hild of Cozad passed away April 25, 2016 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. Bethel was born August 5, 1922 at Archer, Nebraska to John and Anna (Curtis) Rawlings. She graduated from Archer High School. Bethel assisted her father in showing his prize Belgian horses at the State Fair. The family would sleep in the horse trailer. On June 8, 1941, Bethel married Robert A. Hild Sr. at Central City. They farmed north of Elm Creek and later moved to Cozad in 1949. She had a drapery business out of her home for many years and enjoyed quilting. Bethel was proud of her family and cherished time spent with them. She enjoyed birthday parties in the park and traditional picnics. Bethel loved to organize and plan family gatherings, delegating specific jobs to each family member. She will be missed by all who knew her. Bethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Lillie Standard, Nita Watkins, Gertrude Williams, Pauline Mapes and Opal Neel; brothers, Leonard Rawlings, Cecil Rawlings, and John Rawlings; grandson, Jason Ardale and daughter-in-law, Karon Hild. Survivors include her son, Robert (Donna) Hild Jr. of Cozad; daughter, Patricia (Kent) Anderson of Brady; grandchildren, Scott Kolbo of Gothenburg, Lisa (Charles) Petska of Cozad, Chris (Beth) Anderson of McCook; great grandchildren, Ashley (Ashton) Hochstetler and Halie Petska; great great grandchildren, Aubrey, Austin and Ayden Hochstetler. Memorials are suggested to the church. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jill Boyd officiating. Burial will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 8 with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 at Berryman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
