Lloyd H. Fochtman passed away on August 29, 2016 at his home in Cozad at the age of 79. Lloyd was born on March 26, 1937 at Kearney, Nebraska to Lloyd and Carolyn (Johnson) Fochtman, Sr. He graduated from Cozad High School. Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was an Aircraft Engine Mechanic on the B-36. Following his discharge, he moved to California and worked for his brother-in-law. Lloyd eventually moved back to Cozad and worked for Wells Motor Company in both Cozad and Kearney. He worked as a machinist at Monroe Auto for 20 years and South Central Developmental Center before his retirement. Lloyd enjoyed hunting and collecting guns. He was also a fan of stock car and midget racing. Lloyd enjoyed spending his time with his family and animals. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Fochtman and sister, Barbara Lavair. Lloyd is survived by his brother, John Fochtman of Cozad; sister, Mary (Mike) Augustyn of Omaha; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Friday, September 2, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Don O'Brien as celebrant. Burial with military honors will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 8 at Berryman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
