Douglas Kent McVicker of Cozad passed away September 13, 2016 at Golden Living Center at the age of 69. Doug was born February 12, 1947 at Lexington, Nebraska to Robert T. and Eunice (Benjamin) McVicker. He graduated from Cozad High School and immediately went to work at Monroe Auto Equipment in Cozad. He retired from the same company after forty years as an assembler. Doug's passion in life was fishing at various locations around Dawson County. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Timothy McVicker and Eunice Benjamin McVicker Cole; stepfather, Francis Cole; and oldest brother, Robert James McVicker. Doug is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Orpha), retired Denver, CO firefighter and Richard (Shirley), retired from Chief Automotive, Grand Island, NE, now living in Sun City, AZ. Uncle Doug leaves behind three generations of nieces and nephews and many other extended family members and friends. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. A memorial has been established in his name for later designation. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Father Don O'Brien officiating. Inurnment will be at the Cozad Cemetery. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Wednesday from 1 to 5 at Berryman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
