Preston (P.R.) Adams of Elwood passed away November 27, 2016, at Lexington Regional Health Center at the age of 74. Preston was born January 24, 1942, in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Richard and Inez (Lark) Adams. He attended school in Broken Bow. The couple were blessed with 5 children, Michael, Pascale, Corinna, Preston (Richie) and Desiree. Preston worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 25 years before his retirement. In 1995, he married Cheryl Tilson at Cozad, Nebraska. He loved fishing at Lake McConaughy and Johnson Lake with his brother, Mike, and son, Richie. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and loved to wear his kilt displaying his manly knees. He enjoyed listening to Celtic music and playing his Scottish drum. His latest interest were his Native American flutes. Preston was also very talented at storytelling about his childhood, the antics of two little boys (he and his brother, Mike), and his tall tales on fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife; nephew, James Melville; 2 nieces, Anne Hawkins and Penny Cavin; brother, Donzel Adams. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Elwood; children, Michael (Bobbie) Adams of CA, Pascale Adams of GA, Corinna (Travis) Mauterstock of CA, Preston Adams of North Platte, and Desiree Adams of FL; step children, David (Dawn) Newbrey and Robyn (Dean) Watchorn Newbrey; brother, Milo (Sue) Adams of Omaha, sister, Noreen (Ted) Ailes of Lincoln; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
