Keith W. Gronewold passed away February 10, 2017 at his home in Eustis, Nebraska at the age of 71. Keith was born May 20, 1945 at Gothenburg, Nebraska to William and Irene (Miller) Gronewold. He attended school at Eustis, Nebraska and graduated with the class of 1963. Keith participated in sports during high school and was proud to have played on the 1962 State Championship Football Team. He entered the US Navy in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1969. Keith married Phyllis Triplett in 1969 in Louisville, MS. The couple were blessed with 2 sons, Michael and Scott. He later married Helen Obrecht in Grand Island, Nebraska in 1990. Keith worked in Grand Island as a consultant to Business World Products, Eakes Office Supply and Nebraska Petroleum. The couple moved to Eustis in 1996 where Keith went to work for the local newspaper, Hi-Line Enterprise. Keith enjoyed covering high school sports and getting to know the area student athletes. He was a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Keith was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Helen Gronewold of Eustis; 2 sons, Michael Gronewold of Louisville, MS and Scott (Amanda) Gronewold of Starkville, MS; step children, Delaine Obrecht of Denver, Jayson (Karen) Obrecht of Kearney and Melissa (Tom) Duffy of Des Moines; grandchildren, Hadley Thompson, Stephanie Spurlock, Alec Johnson, Henry Duffy, Jacob Obrecht, Nathan Obrecht and Kaitlyn Obrecht. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. At Keith's request, there will be no formal service and will be cremated. Memorials are suggested to the family in his name. Berryman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
