Anthony D. Emmons

Anthony D. Emmons of Cozad passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 as the result of an accident at the age of 40. Tony was born February 23, 1977 at Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Austin High School in Minnesota with the class of 1995. Tony attended some college before joining the military and served as a US Marine for 4 years. Tony met Brandi Havlicek while traveling on a bus from California to Las Vegas. He and Brandi were united in marriage on February 24, 2001. The couple were blessed with 3 children, Terasa, Trenton and Taylor. They enjoyed traveling the country, moving multiple times before settling in Cozad. Tony worked in the oil fields in Tigoa, North Dakota, which was one of his favorite jobs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the kids participate in sports. He also loved coloring with the kids, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Matlow; and grandparents, Edna and Bernard Matlow. Survivors include his wife, Brandi; his children, Terasa, Trenton and Taylor; sisters, Tereasa (Taylor) Fields of MN, Andrea Lopez of IL, Jessica (Ricky) Teschendorf of FL, Jana (Thomas) Lutz of FL, Jamie Stewart of MN, Jolee Stewart of MN; brothers, Danny Emmons of IL, Raymond Emmons of IL, Harold (Michelle) Fields of MN; parents, Troy and Jill Stewart of MN; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Memorials are suggested to the family. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Al Jesseph officiating. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Monday, prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
