Marlene M. Fife of Cozad passed away December 24, 2017 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 78. Marlene was born November 30, 1939 at Hamburg, Iowa to Roy and Nora (Bennett) McBride. Marlene grew up in Omaha, Nebraska where she graduated from High School. On June 7, 1957 she married Raymond Fife at Papillion, Nebraska. The couple moved around throughout their married lives for Raymond's career, before settling in Cozad. Marlene enjoyed playing bingo, listening to country music, reading and spending time outdoors. Marlene was a caring and giving person. Her most treasured times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 2012; and 5 brothers, Norman Bennett, Pat, Jack, Jim and Gary McBride. Survivors include her children, Dale Fife and wife Debbie of Winnetoon, NE, Maurine Himes and husband Ted of Fruita, CO, Sue Johnson and husband Steve of Seymour, IA, and Brian Fife and wife Kelly of Cozad; grandchildren, Justin Himes and wife Desi, Courtney Himes, Ryan Himes, Brandon Buckner, Aaron Buckner, Shane Fife, Sydnie Fife and Dustin Fife; great grandchildren, Karson Pollock, Rylie Blaney, Lane Himes and Emree Himes; sister-in-law, JoAn Worden; nephew, Raymond Worden; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside Memorial Service will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
