Eloris A. Burham of Platteville, Colorado and Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away January 7, 2018 at her home in Las Cruces following a short battle with brain cancer, at the age of 78. Eloris was born November 19, 1939 on the family homestead in Eustis, Nebraska to Walter and Anna (Goldstein) Rupe. She graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1957. In August of 1959, Eloris married Clarence Burham at Eustis, Nebraska. The couple were blessed with 2 children, Debora and Bret. The family moved around between Colorado and Wyoming installing Power Lines, before settling in Denver. Eloris had a strong work ethic. When she became a single mother, she was able to support herself as well as put her children through college. She worked in the Trucking Industry for over 50 years, before her retirement at age 70. Eloris loved to travel. She always drove and took every opportunity to see everything she could before leaving that location. Some of her favorite places included the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Alaska and Washington D.C. When she was home she enjoyed reading, playing checkers and going on walks with her neighbors. Eloris was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jerry Rupe. Survivors include her daughter, Debora Burham of Las Cruces, NM; son, Bret Burham of Platteville, CO; sister, Verna Mae Gruber of Eustis; sister-in-law, Linda Carpenter of Gothenburg; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eustis with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
