Beverly E. Johnson, 96 of Cozad passed away February 20, 2018 at her home with family by her side. Beverly was born August 2, 1921 in Minden, Nebraska to Fred and Elizabeth (Podewitz) Arent. She graduated from Stockville High School. On December 25, 1941, Beverly married Raymond Johnson at Overland, Kansas. She and Ray moved to Gothenburg, following his discharge from the Navy, where they operated a Cabin Camp. In 1948, the couple moved to a farm site south of Farnam, where they resided until 1979. In 2005, Beverly and Ray moved from North Platte to Cozad. Beverly was a skilled quilter and loved to paint landscapes of the farm and cardinals. She enjoyed camping, square dancing and playing cards. She loved spending winters in Arizona and summers in Colorado with her husband. Family was important to Beverly and she cherished every minute with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include her son, Larrie Johnson and wife Janice of Cozad; daughter, Sharon Call and husband Larry of Omaha; grandchildren, Brenda Stombaugh and husband Farren of Cozad, Phyllis Johnson of Cozad, Rick Johnson and wife Stacey of North Platte, Jennifer Schneider and husband Jason of Cozad, Lacey Anderson and husband Allen of Cozad, Michael Call and wife Lea of Council Bluffs, IA, Brian Call and wife Pam of Pocatello, ID, Joseph Call of Fort Calhoun, NE; 25 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; sister, Leona Greenlee of North Platte; brother, Charley Arent and wife Carol of Loveland, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.Memorials are suggested to Cozad Fire and Rescue or Central Plains Hospice. Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Arbor Cemetery, Stockville, NE. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 8 at Berryman Funeral Home.
