Roy Stapp Jr., age 94 of Omaha, Nebraska, died March 1, 2018 at his son’s home in Omaha, Nebraska. Roy was born March 29, 1923 in Orafino, Nebraska to Roy and Bessie (Crouse) Stapp and graduated from Cozad High School. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and upon returning, farmed for several years before working for the Cozad Telephone Company. Roy began his sales career by successfully selling World Book Encyclopedia in the Cozad area. He had a sales territory for Fairbury Pipe and Supply followed by a sales position for Western Land Roller. He used that experience to open Stapp Irrigation in Willow Island, NE. He obtained his realtor license focusing on agricultural properties. He successfully started and managed several partnerships with friends and colleagues to purchase and develop land into center pivot irrigated property. He enjoyed retirement with his wife, Goldie in Bella Vista, Arkansas, playing golf and making new friendships. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cozad, Bella Vista United Methodist Church, Honor Guard and Crime Watch. Roy was a generous and kind man who will be greatly missed. He loved his family and they loved him more. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; wife Goldie (Holt) Stapp; brothers, Kenneth, and Raymond; sisters, Aileen Wilcox and Violet Powers and great grandson, Archer Roy Eyman. Survivors include his son Steven (Kris) Stapp of Omaha, NE., daughter Rebecca Kline (Gary) of Aurora, IL, ; grandchildren: Eric Stapp of Omaha, NE., Alyssa Eyman of Gretna, NE., Elizabeth Elsbree of Oswego, IL., Audrey Jay of Lombard, IL., and Ellery Kline of Chicago, IL.; and seven great grand children: Berkley, Lainey and Beau Eyman, Amelia and Nathaniel Elsbree, and Theo and Elliott Jay. A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cozad, Nebraska on March 27, 2018 at 10:30 am. with Vicar Kathy Gundell officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
