Benjamin Lester Hasbrouck III

September 23, 1962 — February 22, 2022

Benjamin (Louey) Hasbrouck, III, age 59 of Cozad, flew into his Saviors arms on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Ben grew up in Kearney and received his education from Kearney Public Schools, where he graduated with the Kearney High School class of 1980.  He was baptized into the Christian Faith in 1976 at Open Bible Church.  Ben worked various jobs from Alfalfa mills around the Odessa/Elm Creek area in his early years, to a pressman at the Kearney Daily Hub for several years, then became a Med Aide for South Central Development Services where he helped people in need.

Ben was born Sept 23, 1962 to Ben, Jr. and Louella (Chism) Hasbrouck in Kearney. He loved to hunt and fish and you could usually find him doing something outdoors.  He learned the art of sportsmanship from tagging along with his dad, brother and uncles at a very early age. He loved to take his boys hunting or fishing and would often tell stories or show pictures of the “catch” that they got. Later in life, when his health began to fail, he would go along to be a part of big hunt, even though he couldn’t participate. Ben also loved to play Chess, he could get his opponent in check-mate in 4 moves. He also had big gardens that he would brag about how good his “crops” were doing and often times would go to the farmers market to sell some of his overabundance.

After graduation, Ben married Vera Hartman. Their union was blessed with three children, Bradley (Lisa Berkeypile) of Heartwell, Adam (Candi) and Stephanie (Eric) Schroeder, both of Cozad. He later married Lisa Vollmer, and their union was blessed with two children, Thomas and Samantha. He has 7 grandkids, Faith, AJ, Gauge, Drake, Chase, EveLynn, and Elisa. On March 23, 2013, he married Anna (Dorsey) Sanchez and they made their home in Cozad.  He has 3 sisters; Joanne (Darrell) Covert, Diane Londer both of Kearney and Sue (John) Stapleton, of Grand Island and a sister-in-law Trudy Hasbrouck of Kearney.  Nieces & nephews: Cheryl (Brisbin) Hjort, Clint Brisbin, Cathy (Brisbin) Miller, Chuck Brisbin, Dena (Hasbrouck) Parks, Sterling Hasbrouck, Kevin Londer, Kandy (Londer) Bacon, Derek Stapleton and Natalie Stapleton and a lot of cousins that he loved.  Extended family members include:  Ruby and Richard Dorsey, Sherry Orozco, Tatiana, Maraya, Bailey Orozco and Taylor Dorsey.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Louella Hasbrouck, brother, Arthur Hasbrouck, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
