Betty E. Magnuson of Cozad passed away August 5, 2018 in Pierre, South Dakota at the age of 92. Betty was born October 30, 1925 in Bolivar, Missouri to Claude and Alma (Burris) Morgan. She graduated from North Platte High School. On September 26, 1943, she married Glen Magnuson at Santa Monica, California. They moved to Cozad in 1946. Betty worked at Nebraska Plastics for over 25 years. She also worked at Monroe Auto Equipment and South Central Development Services of Cozad. Betty enjoyed bowling, watching sports, quilting, crocheting, making dill pickles and Raggedy Ann/Andy dolls, playing board games and Bingo, doing crossword puzzles, camping, catching and eating walleye, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Cozad DOES Drove #177 and was active in the Cozad Grand Generation Center. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; infant son, David; daughter, Claudine Wize; brother, Kelly Morgan and sister, Claudine Cain. Betty is survived by her son, John (Julie) Magnuson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Megan (Mike) Stewart of FL, Mikael (Bethany) Magnuson of CA, Nathan (Alynne) Wize of Omaha, Kyla (Matt) Habrock of Juniata, NE, Kylie Wojahn of RI and Cody Wojahn of OR; brother, Bill (Charlotte) Morgan of ID; six great grandsons, Alex, Evan, Isaac, Kaleb, Miles and Ellis; two great granddaughters, Emy and Laila; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the Cozad Grand Generation Center, South Central Development Services of Cozad and Cozad Christian Church. Service will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad Christian Church with Pastor James McCrickard officiating. Burial will follow at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 8 pm with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
