Bill D. Kinnan, former longtime Cozad resident, passed away November 14, 2019 at Tucson, Arizona at the age of 70. Bill was born January 19, 1949 in Lexington, Nebraska to Norman and Dorothy (Heller) Kinnan. He graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1967 and graduated from Central Nebraska Technical College at Hastings, Nebraska in 1969. Bill married Kathleen (Kay) Koch on December 6, 1969. To this union two children were born, Chad and Kristin. After college, Bill worked at Hodges Chevrolet, now Plum Creek Motors, in Lexington. When his father passed away in 1970, Bill took over the family farm until he retired from farming on his own in 2005. He then worked for Lemmon Feedlots in Willow Island and later for Lane Kinnan Farms in Cozad. On August 12, 1995, Bill married Barbara Spangler and became a loving step-dad to Brian and Adam McBride. In December of 2015, Bill and Barb moved to their dream home in Tucson, Arizona. Bill's passions included farming, hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends in the outdoors. He loved drag racing and Nascar, and attended several national events. Bill also cherished his two dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon Bean; brother-in-law, Charlie Bean; and step-son, Adam McBride. Bill is survived by his wife Barb of Tucson, AZ; son, Chad Kinnan of Lexington; daughter, Kristin (Matt) Miller of Kearney; step-son, Brian (Kate) McBride of New York; grandchildren, Sadie, Trenton, Hunter, Brantley and Addison; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett Rose; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family in his name for later designation. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Gahn officiating. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
