Boyd Henry Krejci passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at his home in Eustis, Nebraska at the age of 74. Boyd was born on December 10, 1947 to Charlie and Dora (Coffman) Krejci at Alliance, NE. He attended country school and the Hemingford High School graduating in 1966. After graduation he served in the National Guards.
In his early career he was a charter pilot and flight instruction for Don’s Air Service and Mid-Continent School of Aeronautics of Alliance NE. On February 27, 1971 he married the love of his life Leata McCaslin. To this union two children were born, Kristina and Andrew.
After moving to Gothenburg and then to their current home in Eustis, he worked at Monroe’s before going back to Beekeeping. He worked for Joe McKeone for 20 years and had bees of his own. He then went into partnership with his brother-in-law Cliff and nephew Galen building spec houses. Eventually he worked on his own building and remodeling in and around the Eustis area and helping his nephew Galen and Galen’s son Wade in the carpenter business. He continued to work until his health wouldn’t allow him to.
He was a gentle, loving, kind man and a devoted husband, loving father and Grandfather. Nothing gave him greater joy or made him any more proud than his children and their spouses and his 4 granddaughters. Boyd had an amazing way with people. He made everyone feel at ease and comfortable. He also loved football and all sports, but especially the Huskers!!!
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Dora Krejci, his father and mother-in-law Wes and Evelyn McCaslin. In-laws Mary and Rudy Neben, Dan and Joyce McCaslin, Curt McCaslin, Hap Jones, Ardis and Ed Goodner, Kenny Purdum and Clifford McCaslin.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Leata, daughter Kristina (Kenny) Lotton of Harrison, NE. Son Andrew (Rebecca) Krejci of Lincoln, NE. Four granddaughters: Kalen and Kenna Lotton and Hailey and Emily Krejci. One sister Barbara Krejci and a brother Douglas Krejci of Alliance, NE. Brother-in-law Daryl (Jan) McCaslin of North Platte, NE, Sisters-in-law Audrey Jones of Thedford, NE, Beverly (Jim) Goehring of Cheyenne, WY, and Cleo Purdum of Reedpoint, MT. Many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or Eustis Fire and Rescue. Services will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating. Burial will be at Eustis East Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Monday, December 20, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church.
