Carol J. Stuckey of Cozad passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living at the age of 92. Carol was born September 11, 1926 at Kearney, Nebraska to Melva and Edith (Craig) Worrell. She graduated valedictorian from Cozad High School with the class of 1944. On May 7, 1946, Carol married Clifford Stuckey at the home of her parents in rural Cozad. To this union, six children were born, Doug, Tom, Ted, Steve, Susie and Sandy. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, crossword puzzles and reading. Carol was an avid photographer, it was one of her greatest passions. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served on many committees and boards, a member of P.E.O. Chapter CO and belonged to several Bridge Clubs. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sons, Doug and Steve; and daughter-in-law, Connie Stuckey. Survivors include her children, Tom (Gretchen) Stuckey of Cheyenne, WY, Ted Stuckey of Lincoln, Susie (Jeff) Cornelius of Cozad and Sandy (Mark) Sunderman of Lincoln; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandsons; brother, Craig (Betty) Worrell of Cozad and his family and sister, Doris King of Bennett, NE and her family.
Services will be Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jill Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1 pm to 8 pm with family receiving friends from 6 pm to 8 pm at Berryman Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Central Plains Home Health and Hospice or Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living.
