Charles C. DeHarty of Eustis passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, September 3, 2022 after a long illness. He was born February 26, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa to Roland and Wilda (Mayse) DeHarty. He married Betty Hansen on September 7, 1968 at Garden Prairie Methodist Church. Charlie served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was awarded many medals for his service. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed auto mechanics, motorcycles and camping. Charlie will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Elwin and Dorothy Hansen; and daughter, Susann DeHarty. Survivors include his wife, Betty of Eustis; sons, Anthoney (Amanda) DeHarty of Lexington, Clinton DeHarty of Cozad; daughter, Shara (Gary) Guetrauze of Kearney; brothers, Roland Ray (Yvonne) DeHarty of Mesa, AZ, Authur (Pat) DeHarty of Omaha; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. A Graveside Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
