Connie Louise Parrott

The family of Connie Louise Parrott, age 68, is deeply saddened to announce her passing on November 12, 2024, at her home in Gothenburg Nebraska. She was born to Johnny Earl Britt and Frankie Sue Fender on September 30, 1956, in Paola, Kansas.

Connie attended East Union High School in Afton, Iowa where she met her future husband, Monte. From that union, two children were born, Season and Thomas Jay (TJ). The couple later divorced, and she moved to Cozad Nebraska so she could be closer to her family.

While there, Connie was well known to her community as the friendly face behind the counter at the local C-Mart and Pump and Pantry. Later she was employed at Nebraska Plastics and more recently, at Independence Rising in Gothenburg where she enjoyed working with her best friend and sister-in-law Sue.

When her children were younger Connie loved to take them fishing. Many memories were made at Willow Island Lake and the surrounding areas. In the summer she would plant a large garden and then enjoy canning everything that had grown. Her family often asked for her cinnamon pickles.

Connie was always up for a good joke. One of her favorite holidays was the 4th of July. Her brothers would usually give her a hard time by placing fireworks under her bedroom windows and she was always more than happy to return the favor. Out of ten children, Connie was the only girl and never missed the opportunity to show her brothers she was a force to be reckoned with.

Connie took every opportunity she could to spoil her grandchildren and was a lover of all animals, especially her cat Boots. She enjoyed making the most delicious home cooked meals for her family. She will forever be remembered for her humorous spirit and kind loving heart as it was said she never knew a stranger.

To carry on her memory, Connie leaves behind her two children, Season Trevino of North Platte and TJ Parrott of Des Moines Iowa. Six brothers Rick Britt, Marty Britt (Marie), Randy Britt (Irene), Lonnie Britt (Sue), Willis Gibbens (Candi), and Mike Gibbons (Sonia) as well as her six grandchildren Maelea, Camden, Tanner, Raelyn, Colby and Haedyn along with multiple nieces and nephews that she loved deeply.

Connie was proceeded in death by her parents Frankie and Willis Gibbons as well as her biological father Johnny Britt. Along with her brothers, Thomas Britt, John Britt, Mark Britt and Leonard Britt.

Memorials are suggested to the FUR Animal Rescue in North Platte Nebraska. To honor her wishes, Cremation was chosen with a private celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
