Della Louise Hendricks

Della Sargent Hendricks of Cozad passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at Emerald Care Nursing at the age of 90. Della was born October 11, 1930 in Lenora, Kansas to Laurence and Velma (Wells) Sargent. The family moved to Cozad when she was in the fourth grade. Della graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1948. Following graduation, she attended the Washington School of Music in St. Louis where she studied the piano. Della married Orin Hendricks on September 4, 1955. Their union was blessed with one son, Larry. Della enjoyed square dancing, painting and photography. She was a member of the Cozad Art Club and had many of her paintings displayed for a month in the Governor's Mansion. Della was a photographer for the Robert Henri Museum events and her photos of barns were displayed in the Smithsonian in Washington. Beginning in 1981, Della joined her son attending the Dallas Cowboy Training Camps each year for the next 30 years. They became friends with many players, coaches and others associated with the team. Della was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Orin. She is survived by her brother, Curtis (Betty) Sargent and her son, Larry.

Memorials are suggested to the family in her name for later designation. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cozad Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
