Delmar L. Armagost of Cozad passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 82. Delmar was born October 15, 1942 at Cozad, Nebraska to William “Woody” and Doris (Peden) Armagost.
Delmar attended Cozad High School and went on to receive his barber license in November of 1965. He began his career cutting hair in North Platte before moving back to Cozad, where he worked at Evans Bakery until it closed. He then took a position at the westbound rest area on Interstate 80 near Cozad to keep busy. Those who visited him there will recall his warm smile and friendly demeanor.
Delmar married Sharon Crick in January of 1978, and together they shared many wonderful moments throughout their lives. He enjoyed going to his favorite local establishment every day for a tall glass of refreshment, where he would often connect with friends and family.
Delmar had a great love for fishing and camping, finding joy in the simplicity of nature. He treasured spending time with his loved ones and eagerly attended his grandchildren's events, where he took immense pride in their accomplishments.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents; sisters, Glenda Debban, Darla Dunn and Pam Armagost; brother, Dennis Armagost; grandson, Timothy Stoddard.
Survivors include his sons, Brandon (Kathy) Armagost of Cozad, Scott Armagost of Cozad and Donald Armagost; daughter, Michelle (Tim) Stoddard of TX; grandchildren, Reilly (Jonathan) Miller, Gunnar Armagost, Reagan Armagost, Kinley Armagost, Rylan Armagost and Jennifer (Joshua) Benavides; great grandchildren, Haiden Jo Miller, Colton Benavides and Grace Benavides; brothers, Jerry (Cherie) Armagost of Cozad and Bill (Doris) Armagost of Lexington
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Bellarmee Milosi officiating. Burial will follow at Cozad Cemetery. Cremation was chosen, there will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com.
