Don W. Dillon of Cozad passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Kearney Regional Hospital at the age of 71. Don was born October 9, 1952 at Cozad, Nebraska to Morris “Tag” and Lucille “Sugar” (McVicker) Dillon. He graduated from St. Ann’s High School in Lexington with the class of 1971. Don married Catherine Edelman in Mullen, Nebraska in 1972. The couple made their home in Cozad where they raised their three daughters, Dana, Shanna and Krista. Don farmed with his brother and dad for many years while also being a member of the Plum Creek Riding group. He then worked at Monroe Auto for 9 years and then Paulsen, Inc. until his retirement in 2020. Don loved living close to the farm, and helping Jim and Nate as much as he possibly could. He enjoyed boating and skiing with his girls, wood working, shopping to make Cap crazy, and was an avid golfer with his daughter Dana and anyone that wanted to go hit a few rounds. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Gaven Kasson; granddaughter, Kennetha Dillon; daughter, Shanna Dillon; and brother, Bob Dillon. Survivors include his beloved wife, Cap of 51 years; daughters, Dana Dillon of Holdrege and Krista (Michael) Bodfield of Beaver City; son Hunter Dillon of Minnesota; 7 grandchildren, Azaria, Tristan, Lotus, Reina, Camden, Jaylyn and Isaac; sister, Donna Kolbo Christianson of Cozad; brothers, George (Marg) Dillon of Gothenburg, Jack (Judy) Dillon of Lincoln, Jim (Robee) Dillon of Cozad, Robert Petersen of CA; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Haynes officiating. Cremation was chosen. There will be no visitation. Berryman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
