Donald Lee Pickering

Donald Lee Pickering passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his home in Cozad at the age of 64. His wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Donald L. Pickering passed away suddenly, at his home in Cozad, at the age of 64. Donald was born December 26, 1956 to Wayne and Iris (Sharp) Pickering. Don was a life long resident of Cozad, Nebraska where grew up and married Roberta "Bobbie" Roberts. Their union was blessed with 2 sons, Rocky and Nick. The couple went their separate ways and Don ended up enjoying the single life as he could focus on his 2 sons and be the best dad he be could to them. Don was a hard worker, he roofed for 30 plus years, farmed and was a skilled mechanic. He was the type of man that would give the shirt off his back and would offer help to anyone in need. Don was a creative man and good with his hands. He loved his family and friends dearly, his sons respected him and looked up to him. He will be missed by many. Donald was proceeded in death by his parents. Survivors include his 4 brothers, Lonnie Pickering, Keith Pickering, Dale Pickering and Earl Pickering; his 2 sons, Rocky (Cathy) Pickering of Nevada, MO, Nick (Aryan) Pickering of Cozad, NE; 8 grandchildren, Addison Pickering, Omar Carlos and Maxton Carlos of Cozad, NE, Derek Dice, Sky (Dakota) Soard, Donald Pickering, Diamonnd (Amyia) Pickering and Roberta Pickering, all of Nevada, MO; 4 Great grandchildren,  Blair Dice, Paisley and Gracelynn Soard and Otis Pickering, all of Nevada, MO; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
