Dorothy (Dottie) Davis, age 76, of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away July 26, 2020, Meadowlark Pointe. Dottie was born to Lowell and Edith (Mulholland) Puckett in Billings, Montana on April 17, 1944. She lived with her family in Anchorage, Alaska for 10 years. They then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming and then later to Denver, Colorado where she graduated from Denver South High School. She went on to Colorado State University and graduated with a teaching degree in Physical Education. She was on the Field Hockey team and Rifle team in college. Dottie married Dick Davis on June 5, 1966 in Denver, Colorado. She then taught P.E. in Stockton, California and Cozad, Nebraska. To this union they had two daughters, Kristen and Tara. In 1976, Tara passed away of Leukemia at the age of 5. When Dottie was 30 years old, she had an unexpected health event. but she never let her health problems bring her down. She always kept a positive attitude. She loved to walk, swim, watch any sporting event, spend time in the mountains, and at their cabin. She also sent thousands of cards to relatives and friends for every holiday! Dottie loved spending time with family and friends and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tara, and brother-in-law, Jack Richards. She is survived by her husband Dick, of 54 years; daughter Kristen (Neil) Jack of Eustis, NE; grandchildren, Samantha and Andrew Jack of Eustis, NE; sisters, Edi (Jack) Richards of Prescott, AZ, Ada (Jim) Johnson of Pacific Grove, CA; twin brother, Doug (Barbara) Puckett of Merriam, KS; sisters-in-laws, Ginny (Robert) Stockton of Williston, VT and Mary Kay (Richard) Maule of Edmund, OK; her Meadowlark Pointe Family and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Leukemia Foundation or Cozad United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Private graveside services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Cozad Cemetery with Pastor Doug Gahn officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
