Gary E. Lee of Cozad passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Emerald Care Nursing at the age of 80. He was born September 13, 1944 at Gothenburg, Nebraska to Robert and Dixie (Weatherly) Lee.
Gary grew up in Cozad and married Vickie Crick on August 9, 1971. Through the years, Gary worked various jobs including Paulsen, Inc, City of Cozad, Nebraska Plastics and Evans Bakery. Gary was an avid Husker Fan and was extremely proud to cheer on his nephew Jared Crick. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and family gatherings. Gary spent many years on a bowling league with Kit Crick, Billy Crick, his son Corey and David Crick. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and tinkering in his shed fixing things. Before his stroke, Gary spent many days with his sister, Karen riding bikes all over town.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike; brother in law, Kenny Romatzke; sister in law Sharon Armagost; father and mother in law, Kit and LaRae Crick; and great nephew, Nicholas Freeman.
Gary is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vickie Lee of Cozad; daughter, Monica Earll (Travis Lee) of Cozad; son Corey Lee of Cozad; son in law, Mike Earll of Gothenburg; grandchildren, Ainsley (Tyler) Swan of Gothenburg, Brittney Earll (Kenny Tucker) of Gothenburg, Dirk Earll of Cozad, Braiden Lee of Hastings, McKenzie Lee of Lincoln and Brock Lee of Lincoln; great grandchildren, Jaxon Earll, Drake Swan, Bennet Kendall, Eliza Tucker, Kyler Earll, Everly Earll; bonus great grandchildren, Kennedy Tucker, Korey Tucker, Karter Tucker, Emery (Ryan) Fox; brother Kermit (Glenny) Lee of Eustis, sisters, Karen Oelkers, Marlene (Doug) Callahan and Ann Marhenke (Don Berry), all of Cozad; brothers in law, Bill (Brenda) Crick, Delmar Armagost, David (Cindy) Crick, all of Cozad; and sister in law, Stacy (David) Larsen of Omaha; very special great niece who was dear to his heart, Kinley Armagost of Cozad; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Cremation was chosen. Those wishing to sign the memorial book may do so on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home, family will be present. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Susan Sukraw officiating.
