George A. McLoy

George Allen McLoy of Cozad passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 56. George was born June 2, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Alvin Courtright and Chris McLoy. George felt, nearly all of his life, that it was his job to take care of his mother Chris, especially keeping track of her purse, which she misplaced often. This lasted all of the days of his life. They eventually ended up living in Cozad, where George worked at Tyson, Monroe’s, and lastly Car Quest in Gothenburg. His passion was hunting and being a security officer, which he did for 25 years. He loved helping people and had a heart for anyone in need. He was a very hard and dedicated worker. He was diligent and patient and especially devoted to his family. George was survived by his mother Chris, brother Lee and his wife Julie, and sister Emerald and her husband Christopher. George's wishes were to be cremated. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
