Georgia Mae Allen

Georgia M. Allen of Cozad passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at Emerald Care Nursing at the age of 83. Georgia was born July 3, 1936 in Onida, South Dakota to William and Alvera (Breitkreutz) Merrill. On November 8, 1953 she married Robert Allen in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Because of Robert’s work in farming, the couple lived in several South Dakota, Kansas and Nebraska communities. They eventually made their home in Eustis, Nebraska. In August of 1970, Georgia went to work at Monroe Auto in Cozad and became a lifelong representative for Avon. Later, she drove the school bus in Eustis and delivered the North Platte Telegraph. Georgia was an avid reader and enjoyed water aerobics. She was a longtime member of the Eustis United Methodist Church, Choir, Eustis Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion Auxillary. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rory "Jay" Allen; infant grandson; daughter-in-law, Iris Allen and son-in-law, Von Jurjens. She is survived by her children, Gail Jurjens of Eustis, Robert Allen Jr. of Chesapeake, VA, and Gaye Kraft of Cozad; 9 grandchildren, Janisha Ruda, Shandra Brown, Kami Grant, Alicia Allen, Danielle Carr, Eliott Allen, Cindell Bueno, Troy Kraft and Audri Stark; 25 great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Mileusnich of Hot Springs, SD; brothers, David (Ruth) Merrill of Plankinton, SD, Tom (Dorothea) Merrill of Yankton, SD and Rev. John (Kenlyn) Merrill of Hot Springs, SD; brother-in-law, Gale (Janice) Allen of Oxford; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Eustis United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary 257 or Eustis Swimming Pool. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Eustis United Methodist Church with Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating. Burial will follow at East Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Eustis United Methodist Church. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
