Georgia J Johnson

Georgia Jeannette Johnson of Cozad died Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Meadowlark Pointe in Cozad, Nebraska at the age of 87. She was born on November 8, 1935, in Eustis, daughter of George and Frieda (Schaaf) Roether, was raised in the rural Eustis area and attended school in the Village of Eustis.

On January 3, 1954, she married Jerry Johnson. They had a joyful relationship for 58 years before the passing of Jerry in 2012. If you asked her, she would say that her primary purpose in life was to be a mother of her seven children. She taught them how to be hard working servants, but most of all showed them how to love and enjoy family. She worked with her husband for many years at Johnson TV & Radio, taking care of the accounting and assisting customers. She was a dedicated member of the American Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children; sons, Terry and Marla Johnson of Houston, Texas, Tim and Karen Johnson of Coralville, Iowa, and Bobby and Jeri Johnson of Cozad; daughters, Marge (Johnson) and Stan Finnell of Cozad, Marcia (Johnson) Hester of Hastings and Rhonda (Johnson) and Bruce Guthard of Litchfield; brother, Gene and Marlene Roether of Eustis; sisters Gloria Roether of Cozad, and Glenda (Roether) and Roger Neill of Cozad. Other survivors include; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, infant daughter Patty-Sue, and brother Glenn.

Memorials are suggested to the Cozad American Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. Services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the American Lutheran Church in Cozad with Vicar Misha McFarland Pollock officiating, casket will be closed. A private family burial will be at Cozad Cemetery following the service. Visitation with closed casket will be Friday, April 21, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Berryman Funeral Home.
