Harold “Hal” Hawthorne, 87, of Cozad, passed away January 13, 2021 at Emerald Nursing and Rehab. Harold was born October 6, 1933 in Holbrook, NE to Clarissa (Clarke) and Elmer Hawthorne. Harold graduated from Cozad High School in 1952, where he played football and tuba in the high school band.
Harold was a tree trimmer, but for many years, Harold’s career was as a salesman where he worked for Bay Electronics, Finco Corporation and Tandy Corporation. In 1989 he completed training in the Ingham Method of Reflexology. He practiced reflexology for 30 years and helped many people to better health.
For many years he was a member of the Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the American Lutheran Church, where he served as a deacon.
Harold is survived by his sister Betty and husband Ray McKenney, of Holbrook, NE. His son Phillip Hawthorne, of Mesa, AZ, two daughters, Cynthia and husband Dave Monyhan, of Winona, MN and Beverly Pelerine, of Riverside, CA. Four Grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cozad Elks Lodge. Memorial service will be Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be at Cozad Cemetery.
